Become an Emergency Responder Volunteer
How it Works
The Guardians have three tiers of volunteers - Emergency Response/Search and Rescue, Security, and Community Support
Tier 1 – Emergency Response Team
This highly trained and certified team will be involved with challenging search and rescue situations. Their primary mandate is the preservation of life.
Some examples would include but are not limited to:
Aiding in the extraction of people threatened by fire, flood, earthquake, or any tragedy.
Aiding in the extraction of animals/livestock threatened by fire, flood or earthquake, or any tragedy.
Aiding local police, fire, and ambulance services.
Providing emergency medical attention by certified Emergency Team members.
Aiding in wilderness search & rescue.
Tier 2 – Security Team
Regulated by the Security Services Act, this team provides safety and a deterrent to crime, offering peace of mind and assurance of protection.
Some examples would include but are not limited to:
helping store owners that are repeatedly targeted by shoplifters or vandalism.
aiding local authorities in guarding crime scenes.
close proximity protection by licensed security members.
theft and looting deterrence for both businesses and residential.
Tier 3 – Community Support Team
This team of empathetic and compassionate volunteers provides hands-on care for those in need of basic provisions.
Some examples would include but are not limited to;
aiding seniors or others not able to help themselves in times of crisis,
aiding flood victims by helping with sandbags and delivery of basic needs,
responsible for setting up disaster base camps; tents, blankets, food, water,
aiding in ground searches of lost persons.
